Shrimparoo #31

Those who have made their way south to Wilmington NC during October certainly have great memories to keep them warm all winter long. But it's not only the balmy weather generating the memories, but also a seasonal phenomeon (like birds flying south, the swallows coming back to Capistrano or better yet - like deer rutting) called the great Shirmparoo. There's no secret handshake or password required, but in order to emulate this ritual you all must carefully follow the recipe handed down for decades and exemplar of southern hospitality.

Shirmparoo required ingredients:

• 1) 35 or more foaming at the mouth handball players (well aged preferred)
• 2) 3 days court time at a friendly Y that likes handball
• 3) a guy crazy enough to try and mix and manage #1 and #2
• 3) a wonder woman named Jackie
• 4) lotsa pizza
• 5) lotsa snacks
• 6) an abundance of beer for each foaming mouth in #1 above
• 7) a couple hundred lbs. of shirmp
• 8) a ton of crab salad
• 9) a hundred or so lbs. of 'corn on the cob'
• 10) a guy who doesn't mind his backyard being destroyed
• 11) a guy who can stay sobber long enough to cook #7 and #9 above
• 12) an appropriate number of spouses/girlfriends/significant others who allow the above to happen contrary to their better judgement.

Instruction:

• Combine ingredients 1 through 3 above.
  Marinate for a minium of 2 days using ingredient 6 until incoherent .
  Have the guy in 11 stuff 1 with 4, 5, 7, 6, and 9 in order of prefference until ready to burst.
  Continue until the guy in 10 turns out the lights.
  Gather all your 12 s and go home until next year.
